About Us
The Judith A. Lese Breast Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization which was founded by Judith A. Lese in 2003 and since then, the Foundation has been proudly serving the Washington Metropolitan Area and beyond.
The Foundation is served by an Executive Board of 3 Members; and a Medical Advisory Council of 5 very special doctors.
MISSION
The Judith A. Lese Breast Cancer Foundation is committed to educating individuals with updated, accurate knowledge; to empower individuals to become the strongest advocates for breast health care for selves and others, and to work to eradicate this insidious disease.
The core driving force of the Foundation’s friends, supporters and contributions is in the pursuit of education and cure for breast cancer.
VISION
The Foundation strives to raise awareness of this disease by making presentations, distributing updated articles and sponsoring events to raise monies for research. We are a valuable source of vital information on annual symposiums that bring prominent speakers and researchers to individuals and provide a forum for clarifying medical information for a woman’s breast health and other related health concerns.
The Foundation envisions a variety of organized activities to raise funds enabling the Foundation to contribute its support of specific researchers, clinical trials, and opportunities for uninsured and underserved patients. We will continue to work and remain an integral part of a growing breast cancer facility by providing unrestricted gifts that allow the facility to provide cutting edge care and at the same time work together to find better ways to diagnose and treat breast cancer.
Values
The Foundation is a grassroots not-for-profit organization. We are non-endowed and are 100% voluntary.
All contributions support: specific researchers and their projects, the Sullivan Center for Breast Health, and provide updated and accurate information in order for all to receive regular health care.
The Foundation’s Operational Expenses are provided by Judith and Laurence Lese. Our legal assistance is provided by Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP, Washington, DC and Duane Morris LLP, Washington, DC.
